Skin Lesion / Mole Assessment
Skin lesion / Mole Assessment / Skin Checks
I offer checks of individual lesions or total body skin checks. Any suspicious lesions can be photographed and observed or I can perform an excision (removal).
I utilize DermEngine’s (dermengine.com) intelligent skin analytics tools to provide advanced, evidence-based care to patients.
I have had specific training in skin cancer detection using a new technology called dermatoscopy (also known as dermoscopy) to detect melanoma and other skin cancers and also to confidently diagnosis non cancerous and other inflammatory skin conditions. This method is the most accurate, thorough and comprehensive means available of detecting skin cancer and melanoma.
My vision is to save lives by detecting and treating skin cancers early and to reassure patients on lengthy waiting lists who have benign skin lesions.
Skin Tag Removal
Skin tags are small growths that hang off your skin. They’re common and harmless, but can be removed if they’re bothering you.
Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths on your skin. They can vary in colour and size – from a few millimetres up to 5cm wide.
Skin tags are usually found on the neck, armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts. They can also grow on the eyelids or under the folds of the buttocks.
Both men and women can develop skin tags. They tend to occur in older people and people who are overweight or have type 2 diabetes, although some people develop them for no apparent reason.
Skin tags tend to grow in the skin folds, where the skin rubs against itself, such as on the neck, armpits or groin. This is why they tend to affect overweight people who have excess.
I don’t recommend trying to remove a skin tag yourself as it can be painful, you can cause infection, and they can bleed.
I use two methods to remove Skin tags:
1: small tags can easily be treated with cryotherapy
2: Larger or numerous skin tags can also be surgically removed

Treatment of Keloid Scarring
When a wound heals, it leaves a scar. A keloid scar is one that becomes thick, lumpy, raised and larger than the original wound.
Anyone can get a keloid scar; they’re more common around the upper chest, shoulders, head (especially the earlobes after a piercing) and neck, but they can happen anywhere.
They can develop after very minor skin damage, such as an acne spot or a piercing, and spread beyond the original area of skin damage.
I offer steroid injection into the scar which helps flatten it and reduce the redness. It can also help when the scars are itchy and painful. Often several treatments are required.
Adcortyl inj. £150 per treatment.
Likely to need 2-3 treatments 6 weeks apart for best results.
